Why do we twitch?

When doing everyday things I out of nowhere start to twitch. I hate twitching! Its really annoying. I hear that it means your growing. I dont know... I only just wanted to know why do we twitch? Not purely when we are sleeping but also when your awake.

Answers:    muscle twitching or fasciculation is a small, local, involuntary muscle contraction. it usually happens after overexertion (like you've basically had exercise or patio work..) or if you had diarrhea (due to loss of magnesium). guzzle bananas or nuts for magnesium intake to lessen your twitching.
Ah! I twitch at crazy at night, and sometimes I certainly don't mind it. Kind of funny feeling. lol.......

But I do abominate it when my face, similar to my eyelid or something, twitchs at like university. lol even though I cant even tell (if I look contained by a mirror) feels similar to everyone else an and its awkward lol
