Is it true that drinking alcohol boosts one's confidence?

My long-time friend Francis confessed that he's in love near me. He said that he's been contained by love with me for three years immediately but he didn't know how to tell me because we're such well-mannered friends and he didn't want our friendship to be affected by his revelation. Last week, he finally have the courage to tell me how he feel because he had too much booze. Our friend Fred said that alcohol can really heighten up one's confidence smooth that it makes you do things that you customarily couldn't. So, is it true?

Answers:    In a way, yes, alcohol does increase a drinker's confidence. Alcohol have this effect of lessening one's inhibitions and so promoting aggressiveness. Have you noticed how a individual becomes terribly talkative when he drinks alcoholic beverages? Alcohol also affects a person's acumen and develops temporary spontaneity. I guess the alcohol really help Francis in confessing his love for you. You're lucky he didn't drink more than that because near a confidence level resembling that, there's a huge possibility that he'll conquer his fears and just kiss you.
I don't know if we're more confident or more stupid!
