I know this boy that is overweight and he have a soft stomach but his dad has this really rock unyielding fat stomach. Is in attendance a scientific sense why fat stomachs can be rock-hard or soft?

Answers:    The "big, hard" ones are packed to the max.

The soft ones are of mostly surface grease, hence the squish.
