Answers:    Hi, you said you've been a smoker for 42 years and consequently you stopped. How long have be experiencing this numbness? you see, being a smoker predisposed you to particular diseases for ex. guillain-barre syndrome which has symptoms similar to you are experiencing right now. In guillian-barre, numbness may progress to paralysis and it starts from our foot. I am not suggesting that you have this condition, but it would be accurate and to also give you peace of mind, enjoy it checked by a doctor. God Bless!:)

Your warmth
Exercise (for you walking) might help, ask your doctor. Although it won't imagined improve much because your COPD have made it very difficult to take oxygen to your cells surrounded by your feet. So they surface numb, and you can't control your muscles as much.
