Blood donation give somebody the third degree, re military?
One of the questions they asked at the blood drive today be about military personnel and/or dependent family who have be stationed overseas between 1980 and 1990/1996. If you fall in this category, you are ineligible to donate blood. Why are military and their families that be on certain basis overseas during that time ineligible?
Answers: Between 1980 and 1996, any potential donor who was a contestant of the US military or dependent of a member of the US military and spent 6 months or more associated near a military base within any of the following countries: Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Turkey, Italy, or Greece
This is because of Mad Cow Disease
Well, if military personnel and families be stationed in unshakable countries they could be at higher risk for constant diseases. That would be my guess.
