I am taking a CNA course at the Red Cross. Here's my second press.....?
Answers: CNA's, unless directed by a nurse, do not see patient's charts. All information such as BPs, Temps, and other information to be put in charts is hand to nurses and they do the charting. Unless there is a righteous reason for you to be contained by a patient's chart, I would avoid it due to confidentiality.~
That actually depends upon your state and the smooth of involvement you have near the patients. In most long-term care services where I've worked, nursing assistants weren't even allowed at the rear the nurses station, let alone, access to the patient's medical history.
It is not uncommon for a long-suffering to have some sort of infectious disease such as MRSA, VRE, C-Diff, E-Coli, Hepatitis, HIV . . . and the nursing assistants not know (after adjectives, isn't that what universal precautions are for)?
I'm a CNA, but I work as a restorative aide -- which technique -- essentially, I do therapy near people. I complete independent decriminalized documentation, including participation grids, evaluation of resident taking part in relation to goal, and the such. . . I have access to my screened-off area of the medical record (and, as such -- certainly have access to the entire medical record).
