What is going on within your body that make you ''high''?

what i mean is this: i know that the weed make you high, but in actuality happens after you smoke it?

Answers:    This won't be simple but I'll do my best. THC, tertahydrocannabinol, is a psychoactive chemical, a cannabinoid, that produces the giant.

Receptors are binding sites in the brain for chemicals that instruct brain cell, neurons, to stop, start or otherwise regulate various brain and body functions. The chemicals that trigger receptors are call neurotransmitters. Many drugs, such as THC, mimic neurotransmitters. And we have cannabinoid receptors contained by our brain. We are born with them. Recall that THC is a cannabinoid and cannabinoids bind to and affect various regions of the brain - the limbic system (emotions), the hippocampus (memory) and the basal ganglia and cerebellum of the base-brain (coordination). By mimicking the neurotransmitters that customarily bind to the receptor sites in these regions, THC triggers the heated, memory and coordination changes that are experienced after smoking weed.

As for what happen after you smoke it, THC enters the blood during the gas exchange surrounded by the lungs. Carbon dioxide is exchanged with oxygen and THC crosses over at impossible to tell apart time. When this blood returns from the lungs to the heart, it's pumped out to the body and reaches the brain. That's when and where on earth it binds to the cannaboid receptor sites in the brain. There is no interaction beside dopamine or serotonin. Dopamine-related effects are associated with cocaine and other opioids.
Your brain releases excess amounts of the hormones Seratonin and Dopamine. If you are curious in the region of drugs, check out The Vaults of Erowid at Erowid.org. Fun stuff.
