2 yr ancient ate the covering of a pill?

My daughter somehow managed to initiate my grandmothers HBP cold medicine and she lick the outer covering off of the pill but she did not chew it she spit adjectives over the floor. I called poison control and they said she should be fine. I'm still worried should I ring her doc too?

Answers:    The coating or shell of capsules is usually made of gelatin, an animal by-product. Other coatings are made of cellulose acetate phthalate. They're Jell-o-like gelatin or vegetable/corn, contained by other words. The gelatin coating usually dissolves quicker in the stomach than the one made beside cellulose--both types, though, are dependent on the concentration of polymer in the shell. The coatings/shells are out of danger to lick or consume. Gelatin capsules are used more for pharmaceuticals, while vegetable/cellulose capsule are a favorite of herbal and vitamin markets.
Only be worried if she swallowed it. The outer coating is made of gelatin usually, and is commonly used surrounded by foods such as jell-o or candy. Call an ambulance if you see anything worsen
