Answers: you didnt read out what you need it for...cant answer the ask without knowing the symptoms...Hmmm...not knowing how infirm the kid is my best guess would be to start with some Tylenol/Motrin (generics are fine). Then I would seize an expectorant like guifenison (Robitussin). You may want to give an antihistamine as well (benedryl, claritin, zyrtec ect.) Try this for a sunshine and if symtoms dont improve later take the kids to the doctor.
The bare bones are:
fever reducer (tylenol/motrin/advil)
expectorant (robitussin)
antihistamine

If he he super lethargic, bring him to the hospital. If you are sure it is freshly achiness from the flu, tylenol works best. remember that tylenol is an analgesic and it will also take down his confusion. win, win.
