How do those determine the % that they are disabled.?

My brothers doctor said he is 20% disabled how do you know? Is there a book I can refrence just about this. Thanks so much for your answers

Answers:    normally it is not obliging to give percentage disability to some who is disabled. it wont directly oblige your brother and how they actually come up beside a number probably wont really help you.

There are diverse ways doctors come to such a number, and it generally calculated after a thorough assessment and using a set of table to work out the level of impairment.

If you are interested contained by how this is done, it is complicated, but an exmaple can be found at the link below.

Impairment table are made for insurance companies to work out how badly someone is injured. They are usually not adjectives for the rest of us.

To help you next to some basic lingo:
Injury = damage to the body or mind
Impairment = loss of function due to Injury
Disability = the inability to do something because of an impairment
Handicap = the disadvantage someone have compared to a healthy party because of their Disability.

Although you might be interested in the percentage of disability, it is lone really used when an insurance company wants to work out how much moeney someone should capture after an injury. They need to use table to be as consistent and fair as possible, but it doesn't other seem equal.

It is more important that you look at your brother's disability surrounded by terms of what he can an can't do, not contained by terms of a number. This process you can work out how you can help your brother. I hope this help.
disabled means you cant work or hold a situation
