What is involved near have a Contrast CT scan for my kidneys?

I'm scheduled for this subsequent week - I'm leary of the dye being injected - what's that adjectives about? And what exactly can be diagnosed by this procedure? I be rushed at my dr.'s appointment and didn't ask him this stuff. Thanks for any info!

Answers:    It's not a big deal. There will be an IV placed surrounded by your arm through which the dye contrast is introduced. You may feel slightly melt as the dye goes into your artery, or you may get a metallic fancy in your mouth. Your genital nouns may also feel heat up. These are normal sensations. The doc will be looking for stones, blockages, tumors, etc. within the kidney. The most uncomfortable item is the IV stick, and that is over within a jiffy. Try to relax as best you can. Good luck.
1.They will insert a IV into your arm.
2. Take pictures of your kidneys.
3.Insert a solution through the IV.
4. Take more pictures as the dye travels through your kidneys.
thus allowing to see if there is any blockages.

Don't be afraid it's not sore.

Good Luck on your test
