Swollen Lymph node from inoculation?
Four days after my DPT (diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus) vaccination, I own a very rough swollen lymph node sitting just above my R) clavicle.
I'm pretty sure it's from the vaccine, because I haven't be sick.
It's about an inch contained by length and quite distinguishable (maybe I'm just person paranoid).
The swollen lymph is not red or itchy..its just VERY sore & tender. Its really annoying..erghh..it's making me really irritable (then again could be PMS haha). Its 'move-able' when I press it.
I've done some research on-line & apparently swollen lymph nodes could be one of heaps side effects from the vaccine. And all of a sudden when typing this, I discern quite rambling. I've just taken some paracetamol.
I'm a nursing student so it be compulsory for me to have this inoculation before I turn out out on 'practicums'.
Just want to know whether anyone else has have experience something like this? and what happen etc..
The vaccination be called 'boostrix'.
Answers: What tonsils are you chitchat about? Your palatine tonsils? I presume you are, since you said you could see that they are not red. They are truly closer to your mandible, than to your clavicle.
Anyways you can take a CRP blood exam right away to determine if you have a virus or a bacterial infection (value below or above 50). And obtain right on antibiotics for 5 days or so if you have a bacterial infection. But I am guessing it's not bacterial, because afterwards you would probably see white spots on your tonsil.
I suggest you go to a doctor fairly than taking advise from runeed.com on this issue, becuase within is no quality control here.
