What do the Red Cross theory test for when you donate?

HIV and what else....STDS?.....Hepetitus?....Drugs?.....

Also is O postive blood "bad" ....what's the difference?

Answers:    The American Red Cross performs nine different test on your blood. They screen for syphilis, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, and HIV. You are notify, usually by phone or registered mail, if any of the above conditions is detected. And, unsurprisingly, they screen for blood type.

No, type O blood isn't "bleak." You may be having some confusion as here is a Type O strain of HIV that is prevalent within some countries other than the United States.

The Food & Drug Administration regulates blood donation. Blood is considered a drug. There is a screening procedure during which abundant questions are asked. Want to see these question? See http://www.redcross.org/services/biomed/...

Blood donation is a privilege, not a right. It's important that you answer screening question truthfully, even if they seem pointless. The FDA is immensely, very conservative and at hand are many family who are not eligible to donate blood. This caution is why America's blood supply is so nontoxic.
I think it's mostly to create sure you do not have full blown aids - if u do in no doubt cells will float...
