The body of a 20 yr old woman (55Kg) be found in the river. No sings of trauma and she did not drown. Toxicology findings be as follows: Blodd morphine 0.45 mg/L; blood total morphine after enzyme hydrolysis 0.70 mg/L and blood codeine 0.03 mg/L. Hair from scalp was continuosly positive fro morphine; 6-monoacetylmorphine a metabolite of heroin be present in her spine. How much morphine and heroin are present.


Answers:    Amount in body = Vd x cargo x concentration

Vd= 3.3 L/kg

amount in body Vd x counterbalance x concentration

3.3 L/kg x 55 kg x 0.45 mg/L
= 81 mg morphine
= 103 mg heroin
