What happens if you be to cut say an 80 mg time release pill into halfves or quesrters? I hear it is unpromising to cut the time release pills, but what exactly happens? You couldn't od from single taking a quarter of one could you?

Answers:    It would just not be time release, you would draw from the full dose as soon as you take it.......it is not a accurate idea to do that......but you would not OD if you merely took 1/4.

These medications hold a film coating or they are layered so that as they dissolve they are released, i.e. time released.....so they should be taken intact.....

The pills have a show around them to prevent them from being rapt by your body too quickly thereby making the effects of the pills last longer.You wont od but the pills will not work as closely as they were designed too.
