Can you really "drink" baking soda? Please Help, friend surrounded by necessitate of oblige?

One of my friends wants to try the directions that it say on the side of the box of a baking soda. You know how ti says use 1/2 chalice of water and etc. I told her not to, cuz it doesnt really give the impression of being safe or what if she get really sick or something. But she still wouldn't listen, she kept saying that baking soda is also right use for your stomach and stuff. You see she has a fruitless breath problem. And shes afriad to go to her doctor/dentist for backing. So shes been usgin baking soda and putting it within her toothbrush and rinsing with baking soda along beside salt. But immediately she wants to try that on the directions for she think the problem may be coming from her stomach. So if any one can please tell me whats the use ''drinking baking saod" and would it be desperate if she did? by the way shes just 17.

Answers:    Drinking baking soda won't hurt her a bit, but I don't think it will assist her bad breath. It sounds approaching she might have a gum disease. They are glib to clear up but she has to see her Dr. to find it taken care of.
it should be ok condition wise if she follows the directions on the box exactly!
it taste awful, though :)
se may well provide up once she takes a sip or two...
I use it adjectives the time for acid indigestion. Works great. Bad breath, not so. Tell your friend to try brushing her tongue and to floss regularly. See if that help. Drinking Baking Soda after eating lots of sour food makes you burp close to crazy.
