This may come across close to strange logic, but surmise roughly it.............?
Studies hold proven that all cold medication do is temporily relieve the symptoms, (coughing, sneezing, runny nose) and do nothing to elimiate, or even shorten the duration of a cold. Since sneezing and coughing are immune mechanism to attempt to remove the germs and viruses from the body, could taking cold medication actually prolong all along a cold, in that the body's defense apparatus toward the virus has be temporiarly stifled? I thought this was a stupid model at first, but, as the day have gone on, its something I've pondered. What do you think?
Answers: Yes...it simply masks the problems you enjoy. It is like discomfort medication. Excedrin does not cure my headaches it only just makes it so I can't consistency the pain. Cold medication and pain tablets do not cure anything....they just variety it easier to function in our everyday lives and operation with the symptoms of the malady.
I wish I could cure my headache...but have found nil to...so I opt to relieve them with meds...even though I know it is still in attendance...I just can't touch it.
I agree. If you suppress your cough for example, you prolong the length of your cough and maintain the virus stuck in your chest, where on earth it can fester and become something else.
