Why does it hurt when you hold contained by your pee for a long time?

I hate it when I hold to hold in my pee for a long time... you know that stinging sentiment... why do we get that consciousness?

Answers: Because bacteria is building up surrounded by your urethra, making the hole you pee out of, smaller and inflammed.
