Why don't Intensive Care Units hold bathrooms or showers within the patient's room?

Every hospital I've worked in requires patient's to use a bedside commode. I've other wondered why.

Answers:    Because in an Intensive Care Unit, patients are commonly in such a critical condition that they should not be walking around to run to the bathroom. These people are seriously bad and many time can't even obtain up. That's why it's an intensive care part, it's where the sickest empire are.
You're serious? You worked in hospitals? Probably because it's INTENSIVE CARE....geez....
