i know corpsmen are medical personnel for the marine corps and medics are medical personnel for the army, but what difference is here? such as: deployment time? which is more dangerous? does one make available more benefits over the other?

i ask because i am considering one of the two.

Answers:    Well Corpsman do get to shift with the Marines but they also find stationed on ships, on subs, with Airwing unit and hospitals i have see Corpsman never go to the Marines or as i did never budge to a hospital or ship except when deployed with the Marines. For deployment times it adjectives varies for the component you are assigned to. Right now it seem that Army units are catching the brunt of the time overseas but im not Army so cant answer for them. More treacherous again depends on your unit if u are next to a fleet hospital or on a ship not as bad as a Recon or grunt element. Of course im biased but i would say budge Navy because we are better trained than the average Army medic i can say that because i enjoy worked at triService commands and our key knowledge is alot more than the other services. Army does enjoy schools the Navy dont similar to LPN course if u choose. Im sure if u go beside some high speed Army component u get treated better but overall u are a soldier, next to the Marines if u know your stuff u are Doc and u are treated great, again not Army but its from what i have see. If u go to a recruiter they will report to u all the right things u wanna hear but might not be the truth look into it. Good Luck Semper Fi
