What is a return-flow enema?
Answers: Hi Rayz - never heard it call that before, but an enema is when a solution is run into the bowel and, depending on what it's for, any remains in the bowel for a short amount of time or comes straight posterior out. I'm guessing the type of enema you're referring to would be of the latter variety. This would be used for cleaning out the bowel prior to an investigation or bowel surgery.
It's where on earth you do the enema until the flow you get within return is clear.
