How can i gain rid of corns?

My mum has corns and she doesn't know how to rid of them. She's be to a chiropodist but they still came spinal column. She's tried everything like corn plasters and fluid that's supposed to burn them off but it worked the first time and very soon it's not working. She doesn't wear wrong fitting shoes but she wear trainers a lot. Could this hold anything to do with it.
