What do HDLs try to remove?
"Cholesterol combines with other fat and substances called lipoproteins to lend a hand to carry digested cooking oil through the blood system to the cells where on earth it is needed. There are two types of lipoproteins: low density(LDLs) and high density(HDLs). LDLs can go their cholesterol and stick to the wall of blood vessels making them narrower. HDLs are the 'good' lipoproteins as they try to remove the 'stuck' cholesterol."
The substance which is stuck is LDLs, not cholesterol, so
why is it said to remove the 'stuck' cholesterol?
Answers: LDL is low density lipoprotein -- which is a form of cholesterol -- it's the "bad" cholesterol -- it can build up surrounded by the arteries and restrict blood flow -- HDL's (high density lipoproteins) work to remove the LDL's from the arteries -- so that we can have unrestricted blood flow.
both LDL and HDL are types of cholesterols.
