Is it ok to mix Prilosec (heartburn med) and Claritin (allergy med)?

Last night I have wicked heartburn. My allergies be acting up too. I took a prilosec and then I took a claritin. Is this fruitless that I took both at the same time? What are the effects?

Answers:    Probably won't hurt but it might be better to space them further apart so that you don't whip a chance on interaction between the two meds. I am assuming you woke up this am and you touch okay? Then apparently no effects have taken place. Just don't push it and filch them further apart. Don't know if there have been any studies done on that or not.
That's a sound out that is best asked of a pharmacist or doctor, as they own access to a full database of drug interactions.
However, if you don't feel desperate today, they probably didn't hurt you taking just the once.

Oh, and Prilosec isn't as a rule something that will help swift heartburn... it's more of a long term effect (unless you get hold of one with a quick-acting antacid). It's also a really bleak thing to pinch if you normally guzzle a lot of alkaline foods, tough to digest foods, or if you take any tablets on a regular starting place, as all of those necessitate the acidity within your stomach that Prilosec prevents.
i take Protonix, not Prilosec, for heartburn.

But i hold taken Protonix and various anti-histamines for years - no problem.

Of course, since Prilosec and Protonix aren't matching chemical (at least, i don't muse they are) so maybe it isn't that relevant.

and , as usual, your results may diverge.
HAVE YOUR DOCTOR OR PHARMACIST DO A DRR (DRUG REGIMINE REVIEW) TO CHECK FOR POTENTIAL INTERACTIONS
