Everytime I hold a cold, why do my ears pop when I swallow?
Answers: The paranasal sinuses are attached to the nasal cavity via small orifices called ostia. These become blocked relatively effortlessly by allergic inflammation, snot, or by swelling in the nasal bin liner which occurs near a cold. If this happens, mundane drainage of mucus within the sinuses is disrupted. The mucus may build up surrounded by the sinuses usually cause blockages within the Eustachian tube. This tube runs from your ears to your sinuses and when blocked causes poor draining and pops because of pressure building and releasing.
There you run... thats the reason. :)
