Glucose level are majority but doc ordered A1C - different results?
Answers: The A1C will show what your average blood sugar level over the past 3 months. This is more accurate as several things can affect your "short term" glucose stratum that you check when you do the finger prick. For instance, if I check my glucose level after I get through it will be higher than what it is when I've be fasting. The A1C try-out takes the average of over 3 months. The meters are apt for you to use to monitor your blood sugar at home but the A1C lets you know how you're doing over the "long term". The A1C will not inform a doctor what type of foods you're eating (Snicker's Bar). You explain to the doctor what type of foods you're eating. The theory test gives them the averge blood sugar horizontal. If you are testing at different times of the daytime with your meter and are still inside acceptable level (80-110), I wouldn't be too worried. If it gets over 120 any time, I would probably be concerned.
your hba1c will show your blood sugar level have be from the past - may be slightly different from your finger pricking as blood test are more accurate than those little machines. wont be much different though.
