Can I donate plasma if I get a a piercing inwardly the ultimate year?

I'm interested in donating plasma, but I'm not sure if I qualify because I get my nose pierced 5 months ago (it be pierced with a plunger, not with a gun, if that matters). So, I thought it would be a really simple concern of finding out whether I qualify to donate by calling the center and asking whether people can donate if they've gotten a piercing inside the last year, and the center said that they're unacceptable to give out that open-handed of information over the phone, and that I would have to be screen to find out. WTF? They aren't allowed to talk something like general guidelines in connection with who can and can't give plasma?

So anyway, I don't want to drive to the center, move about through the whole screening process (which I've hear easily take two hours) only to be told I don't qualify. So does anyone know if a party qualifies to donate if they've gotten a piercing inwardly the last year?

Answers:    It really depends on the center but as a nonspecific rule of thumb as long as you know a sterile technique was used to create the piercing, consequently you can donate plasma. They will probably ask you when you got it and document it within your file but except that, it shouldn't affect your ablility to donate. In my experience, people will fib to you about anything and everything to know how to donate because they need the money. It's fundamentally important that they peak people ably, because your bodily fluids are going to be injected into someone else's body. In the 70's before they required adjectives blood or human plasma to be tested for HIV, many recipient of these products contracted HIV from tainted blood or plasma donations. This is something that these empire will have to live beside or die because of, for the rest of their lives. This extensive screening is to protect the patients that recieve the plasma. If it was you getting them, you would want to know that the population that are donating are clean and disease free. The screening process is gentle of long and annoying, but after that it should be smooth sailing for you from there. Take something to squeeze, resembling a stress ball or something, and drink lots of sea so your donation will go really quickly. If you need anymore tips or information, please get the impression free to ask me.
Individuals who have have ear, tongue, or other body part piercing are allowed to donate blood as long as the hypodermic used in the piercing be sterile. If it was not or if this is unknown, the potential donor must continue 12 months from the time of the piercing.
