I've gone through a course of amoxycillin, but I'm still coughing really bad and it sounds similar to a dog barking. Some times I even bring up some blood. The Dr said my chest be clear, but it's not nice having this cough adjectives the time. I'm physically worn out from it. My nose have run this whole time too, so it's also getting to be a spasm! Any ideas? How long after a course of anti biotics should I see an renovation, just incase I'm man over anxious here. I finished the course this week on tuesday morning.

Answers:    Hi Hun...i am not sure that anti biotic work with a cough unless an infection is present as ably, my mum used to suffer a lot beside her chest and she was told a cough have to run its course and theres no miracle cure for it, have you tried Vicks condensation rub on your chest and Cavonia cough syrup, sorry i cant help more..

I would move about back to the docs, if the amoxycillin hasnt cleared your chest, you may obligation something a bit stronger, like co-amoxiclav or perchance a course of prednisolone.
