Dry Gangrene?

My step dad has almost complete arterial blockage of his arms and legs. He refuse to do anything about it and very soon it's pretty much irreversable. Now dry gangrene has set contained by. He refuses treatment, including dialators and agony meds. He is in severe throbbing as you can imagine and his skin contained by legs especially is brown. He cries and screams constantly but except this sado masichism thing he is completely competent and we would be firm pressed to have him declared incompetent to force support. The Dr. told my mom to call him when the skin starts turning black. This is such an out of the ordinary situation because we can't find a Dr. that has ever have a patient that have refused adjectives care and died surrounded by such a slow, completely stupid way.

So my sound out is: Does anyone know how long it could take him to die and what to expect subsequent? I know that is probably a unforgivable question, but this is phycologically concrete on us and since the Dr.s can't tell us anything I be wondering if there be anyone who knows?

Answers:    Is here a Hospice organization available to you and your familial? If so, call them. They will assemble with you and your ethnic group and assess your step dad. He has the right to eliminate treatment, but Hospice may be able to convince him to adopt some medication for pain by pointing out how thorny this is on the rest of the family. Hospice will also provide ardent support to your family. I am involved near them right now, as my mom is dying. I hope you are competent to get some serve for yourself, your family and your step dad. Good luck.
