The effect on the unborn child is that the child become addicted to cocaine and if the mom uses long enough can even mete out premature labor and fetal death. IF they are born addicted, more than credible the child is taken away from the mother and placed on Methadone in a channel to wean the baby sour the drugs. They often cry for hours at a time, they cannot tolerate being held, rocked, cradled, touched or pale. It's quite a shame.
