Assuming you get into medical college:

4 years at med school for an M.D. scope.
4-8 years in residency depending on your specialty: 4 years for most (internal medicine, pathology, family practice), 6 for broad surgery, and 8 for specialized surgery (neuro, cardiothoracic). If you want to specialize further, you can do fellowships that may nick another couple years.
