Sleepwalking?

Should I wake up my sleepwalking child?

If yes, how?

Once within a while our 7y/o son gets up during the hours of darkness and walks through the house.
I am never competent to wake him up and surrounded by the morning he does not remember it.

Answers:    Nature of the events are benign and subsequent disappearance surrounded by most cases happens.
If environmental or predisposing factor are discovered, an attempt should be made to eliminate them. Assure so-so sleep, regulation of sleep cycle, and treatment of underlying medical conditions (eg, gastroesophageal reflux, obstructive sleep apnea, periodic leg movements, seizures).
Avoid auditory, tactile, or optical stimuli early surrounded by the sleep cycle. These have be shown to induce events in some patients near parasomnias.
Lock windows and doors, remove obstacle and sharp objects from the room, and add alarms (if necessary) to shrinking the likelihood of injury during an episode.
Nonpharmacological interventions own proven to be inadequate so if the condition continues, your son should be clinically checked and meds prescriped.
