Answers: Everything depends on who's doing it and their experience. Also, you (the patient) play a roll, too. Bigger patients are usually more difficult, but not always.
Someone next to a good bit of experience should do you powerfully, even if they have a difficult time attempting it.
Local anesthetic will be injected beside a small needle first (like a hurried bee sting for 1/2 a second). Usually, this will be all you consistency. More local is sometimes given (a little more stinging) if it is needed. Someone with experience (and compassion) should use more if they are have trouble so that you are not too uncomfortable. Someone smaller amount experienced may get frustrated more well and just maintain poking away as it gets more difficult beside little regard to the tolerant.
If all go well and not too difficult, should newly feel the initial stinging, for a time bit of pressure in the subsidise and then only have to lay still for a few minutes while they collect the spinal fluid.
