What does Vitamin C do for one's body?
I hold a sorethroat and i got these Vitamin C cough drops and i've almost have the whole sack today. I was wondering if this could be hurtful.
Answers: That's not entirely true....
Vitamin C doesn't actually scuffle a cold, but the antioxidant power in it is plenty to boost your immune system and they fight free radical (which may help to prevent the cold from getting worse).
As far as the dose, you don't want to run too much, but the person who first made Vitamin C certain (Linus Pauling) took almost 10,000 mg of Vitamin C daily near no ill condition effects... in certainty, he was one of the healthiest men of his light of day.
Of course, unless your stomach can handle like mad of acidity, I would recommend against taking that much.... most folks have too much tartness in their on a daily basis diet so it wouldn't be as good. 4-5,000 mg of Vitamin C is fine for most ancestors with regular stomachs.
If you ate a in one piece bag of Vitamin C cough drops, it probably wasn't too much for you (since the cough drops hold comparatively little Vitamin C in them), but I wouldn't recommend doing it too commonly unless I could see how much was within each purse ;-)
