I, for one, have an oral fixation. I used to bite my nail CONSTANTLY. It has taken years of self-training to stop, and even now I still do occasionally gnaw sour a nail, especially when I'm nervous or worried. A friend of mine also have a fixation, and he has worked equally hard to see his habit... smoking. He still rolls up little pieces of paper - movie tickets, post-it transcript, the like - and pretends to smoke them, just to sate the want to have something in his mouth.
So hold on to gum around, and keep scarfing down those fruits and veggies. you're fine, it's nothing to be worried almost, unless it interferes with your ability to head a happy and functional life.

Hmm, I don't know. Do you crave food adjectives the time? Try eating more fatty foods, not just carbs. Whole milk, no candy, get through more meat maybe. Or maybe to be exact just the way you are made up. You munch through small quantities of food throughout the day.
Experiment! Read up on different diets. Definitely stem your flow of sugar and white flour. Do research on oral fixation.
