It will be tender and and perhaps sore afterwards, and you should take it comfortable for a couple of days - you will be given an advice sheet. Normal painkillers will take vigilance of any discomfort.
I don't know how long you'll have to wait for your results - that is to say the worst part. It varies and depends on your hospital.
I'm sure you already know that most breast lumps aren't cancerous; undergo that in mind while you wait.

Buy some Bach rescue remedy, it helps a bit. It's good to keep hold of in your bag, you never know when you will call for it.
The biopsy, if it is a fine needle biopsy then it is over and done next to and feels like an injection. There would be a bit of bruising after. A core biopsy give a more thorough diagnoses as not all cancers are smoothly diagnosable with the fine needle. I have fine needle and was diagnosed as clear, next after a core the cancer showed up. A core biopsy, you will be given a little local anesthetic before foot, again a little uncomfortable but nought serious. Your breast will feel tender for a few days, and you could be offered a short course of antibiotics.
It isn't the stress of the biopsy it is the stress of the possibility of cancer. I have be there, I am still here 6 Years on. I had adjectives procedures , surgery, chemo and radio therapy. Recovery is so good immediately, Listen to all medical advise.

I am 21 and found a lump in my breast just about a month ago. I had the biopsy 2 weeks ago. It was a relatively torment free experience. You will have a local anesthetic which i didn't even feel, than they will insert the syringe which you won't feel. You may feel a moment or two pressure as they penetrate the lump but this only last a few minutes. You may be a little sore for a few days after, make sure you filch panadol as soon as you get home, but DO NOT take aspirin as this thins the blood and will rouse bleeding, and for a few days after. Take the day off work and capture someone to go with you. Try to stay self-possessed before the appointment as the more anxious you get the harder you will find it is to fiction still. Good luck I'm sure it's nothing to worry something like. There are books by Louise Hay (eg Heal your body and Heal your life) and I read a book by Caroline Myss that changed my life- "the creation of health" but there are others by her that are good too. They backing the reader deal with infection and develop a positive attitude to health and illness. I be skeptical at first but after reading the book I realised it had really helped me to stop anyone scared of illness and to find the strength and courage to do business with it.

my mom had one in the order of 4 years ago, and i'm not going to tell you it's pleasant. But what you can do is resolve yourself to the fact that it have to be done, so ur gonna be brave and do it and get it overwith, because it might save your energy. It will be uncomfortable, but it doesn't take that long. I will report you if you tense up, it will be even more uncomfortable. newly like a pap smear is. So just breathe and be determined that this is your first step within prevention and/or early detection and therefore the immediately 96% survival rate for breast cancer in the U.S. Good luck and God bless. Just remember that no, it's not a pleasant experience, but that people attain these done EVERY day! You're in angelic hands, and it's better to get it over beside. Maybe plan an activity you can do after you're better as a little reward (eg jump see a movie or buy yourself something new) - so you can look forward to it. People get these done & they're fine.

Take someone you know and trust with you. For my mom's she be allowed to have someone in the room, me. It's not going to be comfortable but a moment ago think of the pain as nouns. Your one step closer to the next step, should there be a entail.
