And i thought you could only get HPV From Sex but my friend told me that you could attain it even if you havent had sex.which confuses me.who is right?

Answers: No, to your first question. The types of HPV that can impose cervical cancer or genital warts require genital skin-to-skin contact to be transmitted. And although intercourse is the most common instrument to spread HPV, it can also be transmitted through simple genital skin-to-skin contact, such as sexual foreplay (and oral sex).

I'll add something new. This year, we are notice that there is a high percentage of one of the strains that cause cervical cancer (16) in mouth/throat cancer. So this means it is associated near that...probably through oral sex but we can't say for sure yet whether it in actuality causes it. Time will tell.
