I am currently wearing braces, and I have had them for something like 6 months. My 2nd molars are severely rotated because of my top two wisdom teeth (bottom two have already be removed, but top haven't because of location near nasal cavity), yet they don't own a metal band around them. Why is this? My teeth are pretty much straight now except for a few, including the ones previously mentioned. I also own a slight overbite. Thank you for the help.

THE KEY TEETH WHICH MUST HAVE BANDS ARE THE FIRST MOLARS. THE REASON WHY MOST ORTHODONTISTS DON'T BAND THE SECOND SET IS BECAUSE THERE IS THE PRINCIPLE OF "MESIAL DRIFT" THAT MOVES THE MOST POSTERIOR TEETH GRADUALLY FORWARD WHEN THERE IS SPACE IN BETWEEN THEM AS THE BRACES.

my ortho told me it was cuz the tooth is to small and the bracket would not fit it right. but likelihood are that molar is straight already, if its not he would have/or already treated that problem Most orthodontists only correct your teeth to the 1st molar. the good ones will get hold of them all straight.
